Fire blight free zones

To be able to fully develop export opportunities to certain countries as China, fruits should be selected from fire blight free zones (Erwinia amylovora). By intensive monitoring and acting, a total fire blight surface of 500-1000 ha is envisaged on a 5 year horizon. Not only orchards, but other host plants in the environment will be monitored for their health status.
