This project deals with intercropping and investigates whether within a row alternation or between rows alternation of raspberry and blackberry have an influence on the spread and the infestation levels of fruit rot Botrytis cinerea and the pests Tetranychus urticae and Drosophila melanogaster. Besides the potential impact of the dead end trap plant, Prunus padus, on the latter pest, is investigated. A yearly genetic fingerprint of all three organisms is made to interpret the field observations.
