Towards a competitive, recognisable and contiguous plum supply

Plum growing is regaining interest as a option for diversification in our fruit production region. The aim of this project is the follow-up various new plum varieties in terms of production and fruit quality.

This research fits into a program with the aim to supply a high quality series of plums, preferably with a similar look and taste, in a prolonged period of the season. As a consequence Belgian plums might take market share in the shelf of the supermarket and get recognition in the mind of the consumer and the commercial stakeholders.
