GMO Project 1.5: Optimisation of crop protection

The aim of this project is to quickly respond to current developments regarding pests and diseases in fruit growing. In 2019  we were working on calyx end rot on pear and scab on apple and powdery mildew in softfruits. Concerning bacterial diseases additional work was done with regard to fire blight. With regard to pests, most of the effort was related to Drosophila suzukii research and the determination of side effects of fungicides on beneficials.
