Knowledge-based practical measures for reliable control of Little Cherry

 

 

 

The presence of Little Cherry disease is currently limiting the investments in and expansion of the Flemish cherry sector.  In this project we obtained profound insights in the virus complex (epidemiology, survival, starting material, effect of rootstock and/or cultivar). Moreover the potential role of insect vectors in the dispersal of LChV1 and LChV2 was elucidated in transmission trials. Finally, control measures were tested and demonstrated.
